We believe privacy policies should be readable by actual humans. So here is ours — written in plain English, without the fine print.
We built SalaryBreakup to help people understand their actual take-home salary — no account needed, no data sent to us. When you enter your CTC and see your salary breakdown, every single calculation happens right inside your browser. We never see those numbers, and we don't store them anywhere.
Think of it like using a calculator app on your phone — the math happens on your device and stays there.
Salary and tax data: None. Your CTC, deductions, tax regime choice, and any other inputs you type into the calculator never leave your browser. There is no server call, no database write, nothing.
Personal information: We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any identifying details. There is no sign-up or login.
Anonymous analytics: We may use tools like Google Analytics to understand broad usage patterns — things like which pages are popular or which browsers people use. This data is aggregated and cannot be traced back to you personally.
Cookies: We use only essential cookies required for the site to function. If we display ads in the future, advertising cookies may be set by those ad networks under their own privacy policies.
All the salary calculations — PF, ESI, Professional Tax, HRA exemption, income tax slabs, Section 80C deductions, surcharge, and cess — run entirely as JavaScript code in your browser tab. When you click away or close the tab, those numbers are gone. We have deliberately designed it this way because salary data is sensitive, and you should not have to trust a stranger on the internet with it.
No login, no "save your results" button that uploads data to us, no email capture. Just numbers in, numbers out, on your own device.
SalaryBreakup may include integrations with the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
Because we do not store your salary data, there is nothing to breach on our end. The site is served over HTTPS, which means the connection between your browser and our servers is encrypted. Beyond that, your data literally does not exist on our servers — so we cannot lose what we never had.
Since we do not hold personal data about you, there is nothing for us to delete, export, or correct on your behalf. If you have concerns about cookies set by third-party ad networks, you can manage those through your browser settings or the opt-out links above.
If you are in the EU/EEA and have questions about GDPR compliance, or in California and have questions about CCPA rights, please reach out to us at ranjanrose@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If we ever change how we handle data in a meaningful way, we will update this page and note the date it was last revised. We will not bury changes in legalese — if something important changes, we will say so clearly at the top of this page. The current version has been in effect since April 2026.
